This is one of the best rental homes i have stayed in. So nice and the host was so helpful. Much better in real life! Wow. There was another couple with a baby in the other room but they were lovely and the walls were so thick we hardly heard the baby. It works out great.

Casa 42 was everything we expected and more! Rikki is an amazing host who greeted us personally to tour the property and her recommendations were spot on. We loved the beautiful room with all it’s natural furniture and fixtures. We didn’t make use of the kitchen and pool this trip but they were clean and inviting. This place embraces nature and is a peaceful retreat after a day full of sun and fun!

Séjour parfait chez Rikki, gentillesse et facilité de communication avec cette hôte qui habite à deux pas.
Le lieu en lui même est magnifique, à l’abri de l’agitation de l’île comme un cocon dans la végétation et néanmoins proche de commerces utiles et de petites plages adorables ! Une vraie vie à la locale…
Le logement est très bien équipé et décoré avec goût. Vive le hamac sur la terrasse du premier étage ! Et nous avons même pu profiter de la piscine du logement adjacent !

This is a beautiful property. A hidden gem. There is so much attention to detail in the property and it is so well designed.

The owners, Rikki and Antonio went so above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable throughout our stay. They were such great hosts both for the property and the island as a whole. They were excellent with communication and gave recommendations for restaurants and things to do on the island. They also arranged a golf cart rental for us.

They own 2 galleries on the island (Madera food and art, 42 gallery) that are beautiful and I recommend checking these out as well. I would highly recommend a stay here. It’s the perfect quiet, relaxing place for a couple. Thank you SO much!!

The private guest Villa and grounds are very lovely with a private entrance. The Villa has has a rustic artist-retreat vibe, and is truly one of the most charming places I have stayed in Isla Mujeres (and I have stayed in a lot of places there). The hosts are very friendly and helpful for any questions or requests, and they went well above and beyond my expectations to ensure I had a comfortable stay . There is a king bed and futon upstairs, and also a balcony with a hammock. The kitchen is an efficiency - outfitted for easy meals, with a large refrigerator, stovetop, microwave, toaster, and coffee maker. The bedroom has a very comfortable king bed, and also a futon, if the (max 2) guests do not wish to share a bed. During my stay, several peacocks and peahens from a nearby farm visited the Villa which was quite a treat. The area is quiet and peaceful in the afternoon and at night but as this is the south side of the island, morning is when the roosters crow. So if you like to sleep late you may want to choose something closer to the north end where music and partying are happening during the day/night but early mornings are calm. The Villa is a short walk to Punta Sur, ideal if you want to get up early and watch the sunrise which is a popular attraction. You will probably want to rent a golf cart or bicycles to get around the island as there are only a couple of restaurants within walking distance. There is a delivery service that offers food from restaurants across the whole island that is easy and very fast if you ever feel like staying in. If you want your own private retreat, away from the hustle and bustle of the north side, this is your place! I loved it!

We stayed at Villa Nalu the week before Christmas. We loved the comfort private deck with a distant view of the water. A/C in the bedroom was a big plus.
Rikki, the owner, did a fantastic job with ensuring our stay was fantastic. She even set up round trip transportation from the airport to the Ferry docks so we didn’t have to find a taxi at the overwhelming airport.
The location is private and quiet, but comes with the cost of being on the opposite side of the attractions and beaches on the north side of the island. If you want total freedom getting around town, I suggest renting a golf cart, which we did for a day, and it helped orient us to the island. However, the buses constantly run through every 20 min or so, and they are significantly cheaper than golf cart rentals or a taxi.
If you want privacy and don’t mind taking a 15-20 min ride with beautiful views across the island to get up town, this is the place for you
