Golf Cart Terms & Conditions

These Terms and Conditions apply to all golf cart rentals booked through Everything Isla. By confirming your rental, you agree to the policies and rules listed below. Please read this information carefully before completing your booking.

Everything Isla operates as a third party booking coordinator. The rental agreement, liability, legal responsibilities, and operational rules are between you and the golf cart agency. Everything Isla is not financially responsible for fines, accidents, misuse, damages, or violations.

1. Rental Eligibility and Identification

  • All drivers must be 18 years or older.
  • A valid physical driver’s license is required.
  • The agency will retain your driver’s license for the duration of the rental. It will be returned when the cart is handed back or picked up at the end of your rental period.
  • Only registered drivers may operate the cart.

2. Rental Duration

  • A rental day is defined as 24 hours from your start time.
  • Minimum rental is 1 day.
  • There is no maximum rental period, but availability may vary.
  • Early departure before 9 AM requires returning the cart by 6 PM the previous day.

3. Passenger Limits

  • Regular carts hold a maximum of 4 passengers.
  • Six seat carts hold a maximum of 6 passengers.
  • Overloading is strictly prohibited for safety reasons.
  • Agencies may confiscate a cart without refund if it is found overloaded.

4. Driving Rules and Restrictions

  • Carts must be driven only on paved roads.
  • Driving off road, into fields, on trails, or on rocky terrain is prohibited.
  • Driving through mud is prohibited.
  • Driving on beaches, the malecón (boardwalk), or any pedestrian zone is strictly prohibited.
  • Failure to slow down for speed bumps can cause damage and may incur repair fees.
  • It is the client’s responsibility to obey speed limits and local traffic laws.
  • Streets in downtown Isla Mujeres are mostly one way. Follow the arrows and traffic direction at all times.

5. Safety Guidelines

  • Use caution when driving near pedestrians, children, cyclists, dogs, iguanas, blue crabs, chickens, and wildlife that may cross the road.
  • Do not use your phone or camera while driving.
  • Carts have no suspension, so drive slowly and avoid sudden turns or rough surfaces.
  • Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is illegal in Mexico. Violators will lose their rental privileges and may face legal consequences.

6. Fuel Policy

  • Carts are delivered with enough gas for 2-3 days.
  • Fuel is included in your rental.
  • Free refills are available at the agency between 9 AM and 6 PM.
  • Most guests refill every two or three days depending on usage.

7. Delivery and Pickup

  • Delivery and pickup are optional services.
  • Delivery is $15 USD per cart.
  • Pickup is $15 USD per cart.
  • You may choose delivery only, pickup only, or both.
  • Deliveries and pickups are provided within a one hour time range.
  • The earliest delivery or pickup range is 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM.
  • Deliveries and pickups are not available after 5 PM.
  • All delivery and pickup timing occurs between 9:30 AM and 5 PM.
  • If you are not available during the scheduled delivery time, a second delivery attempt may require an additional fee, or you may be asked to pick up the cart at the agency. Delivery fees are non refundable.

8. Locations Where Delivery Is Not Available

Delivery is not allowed or not practical at certain downtown properties due to parking limitations or property rules and some hotels are steps from the agency. Self pickup is required for these locations.

These include:

  • Estrella del Mar
  • Ixchel Hotel
  • Hotel Privilege Aluxes
  • Mia Reef Hotel
  • La Poza

9. Late Arrivals and Early Departures

  • The agency closes at 6 pm so if your flight lands past 3:00 PM, it’s recommended to make your reservation for the following day. If you are delayed and not able to pick your cart up before the agency closes you will not receive the cart until the following morning. Unused days due to late arrivals are non refundable.
  • If you depart before 9 AM, you must return the cart the evening before by 6:00 PM.
  • Agencies allow a 10 minute grace period for late returns. After that, a charge per hour.

10. Damage, Cleaning Fees, and Misuse

You may be responsible for costs associated with:

  • Damage from off road driving
  • Damage from hitting speed bumps too quickly
  • Damage caused by overloading
  • Damage caused by collisions
  • Damage caused by reckless
  • Mud damage
    Intentional misuse
  • Lost or broken parts


Specific fees include:

  • Mud cleaning fee: 350 MXN
  • Lost key: 1000 MXN
  • Hourly late return fee: 350 MXN per hour or fraction thereof

11. Traffic Tickets and Legal Violations

  • Clients are fully responsible for any traffic tickets, violations, or fines incurred during their rental period.
  • All traffic fines must be paid in full before the agency returns the driver’s license.
  • Driving under the influence is illegal and may result in immediate loss of rental privileges and legal consequences.

12. Insurance

  • All carts include standard limited liability insurance provided by the rental agency.
  • Optional additional insurance can be purchased directly from the agency during delivery or pickup.
  • Everything Isla is a third party booking service and does not provide or sell insurance.
  • Everything Isla is not responsible for accidents, injuries, damages, theft, fines, or legal claims.

13. Refund and Rescheduling Policy

  • Golf cart rentals are non refundable.
  • If you need to change your dates, most agencies allow rescheduling within six months.
  • A one day penalty per cart may apply for rescheduling.
  • Rescheduling is managed according to agency rules and availability.

14. Subletting and Commercial Use

  • Subletting the cart or using it for commercial or paid purposes is strictly prohibited.
  • Violations may be reported to the police and may result in immediate termination of the rental without refund.

15. Everything Isla Responsibility and Third Party Disclaimer

Everything Isla coordinates your booking and communicates with the agency on your behalf. However:

  • The rental agreement is between you and the cart agency.
  • Everything Isla is not responsible for agency decisions, policies, cancellations, fees, damages, or incidents.
  • Everything Isla is not liable for accidents, legal violations, personal injury, property damage, or any financial responsibility related to your rental.

17. Acceptance of Terms

By completing your booking and paying for your rental, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to all Terms and Conditions listed on this page.
